Beach and Home!

Wednesday June 18, 2008

Today we woke up at about 8:00 because we had to leave early to head toward Westerland, Sylt! We all just kinda threw our hair up because it was pointless to make ourselves all gorgemous if we were just going to go to the ocean to swim! Our train got dealayed about 40 minutes so we had to wait, but we all had books to read so it was all good! After we got on the train we sat there for about two and a half hours! When we got to Sylt we discovored it was really windy which sucked cuz that would mean it was going to feel colder in the water. When we were walking to the beach Kali and Lisha watched a seagul fly towards this guy and take the food he was eating right out of his mouth! They were laughing so hard!!! When we got down by the water we went to go see how cold it was and it was cold but not terribly. So Kali, Rolf and I decided we would go in the water and just get wet up to our legs, well that didn't happen we ended up being soked from head to toe! It was FREEZING! By the time we got out of the water we were purple but it was well worth being cold for how much fun we had! Lisha didn't really want to get in and freeze her butt off so she didn't which was toatally fine, she stayed on the beach and took some pictures of us being dorks! When we were done playing in the ocean we went and got döners they are so good!!! We ate and then decided that we would go home because we were exhausted so we went home! After the long train ride we made it home and we decided to watch Pride and Predjudice we had tons of fun giggling and laughing!

Today we woke up early again so we could get off on the train. We said bye to Rolf and Moni and then set off toward Quinn's. We first caught a train to hamburg when we were close we got off the train, we looked everywhere for our next platform and couldn't find it anywhere so we asked one of the people who worked there where we should go and he didn't speak any English but he was kind enough to print off another paper for us since we miss the train we were supposed to catch. We didn't understand where we were supposed to be so then Kali went and asked another guy and he spoke English we were so happy! He told us that we were supposed to stay on the last train for one more stop which was the main station so we got on a train to go there and then we got to the right train. It was such a relief when we got on the right train. We stopped at Ulzen, Celle and then we made it to Burgdorf. It is so nice to be back!

This brings back loads of memories of when I was in England and made my way around on the busses and trains. I guess I had a little advantage in that the people usually spoke English. This however is not always as nice as you might think. Speaking English and Speaking American are two different things entirely.

The good thing is that the girls are not afraid to find someone who can give them direction and get things back on track.

Keep having fun!

I figured I would give a quick update to the swimchicks about our crazy lives. LeAnn is doing the phony contraction thing and they are asking the doctors what to do etc. I think she still has a week or so left, I am sure you all think of me the first time you have any medical questions. NOT! Who asks a 9 fingered guy about medical stuff?? Ken left with the rest of the team this morning at 3:00 AM for Missoula for the Firecracker meet. Lisa and I both got up, but since most of the Smith got a ride over to the fitness center, I stayed home. I think Gusti and Debbie are on the bus with the team, so I am interested to see if they survive!
I now have every other Friday off and work 9-hour days M-Thurs. This is supposed to help us save on gas or something, but keep the office open by alternating the A group and the B group. The Venture Scouts went down the Jordan River in canoes to get ready for our Teton white water trip. We even had a good time slugging around in the crystal clear waters of the river Jordan, we all came out dry. We leave for the Teton’s next Wed about 2 PM and return Sat night.
Mark and Debbie came over to drop off some items we left at Babis party. I did notice that Marks hair is definitely whiter than it was just 2 weeks ago. Well, let the fun begin on my first Fri off – the work around the house continues.

Yes, it has been crazy around the corbridge house lately. We seem to never let any grass grow under our feet and I bet kaelei if having a nice relaxing time away from the rat race.

I dropped of Deb and Brayden this morning at 3:20AM so they could head off to Missoula. Deb did the usual thing and didn't go to bed while i crashed until they awakened me to take them to the fitness center. I then crashed again after returning home. I never really got any sleep when i was awaken by kaelei needing to get a website from Deb. Even though it was early it was very nice to talk to kaelei again and find out how she is doing, plus i needed to get up and go to work.

Now I am at work Brookelle and Jaxzen are home alone (sounds like a movie). I am getting ready to head back home so I can get busy with the rest of my day.

Well you girls keep having fun....

Just a quick note from the old folks. Yes, Lisa and I are old now. LeAnn is debating when she is actually going to become un-pregnant, Lisha is off running around and rock climbing with guys in Germany and Ken is off with the swim team as one of the oldest if not the oldes swimmer. I remember when LeAnn was 8 or 9 and Lisa went on the Missoula trip. I spoke to Ken for a moment who said he was just about on his best time after swimming the 1500M in 19:20 or something like that.
So, all the kids are running around the world in one way or another and the oldies are home working on the yard. This sounds like what I remember my parents doing.

I sure miss all you goofy kids. I am sure I will get younger when you get back. I hope to backtrack to the age of that white haired beekeeper dude.

Love ya,

Lee
