Kali's trip home

Well, I had a pretty interesting trip home. Quinn woke me up at about 5:30 am (I think, but maybe it was earlier, I don't remember). I took a shower, finished packing, and had breakfast. The trip to the airport was pretty uneventful. Quinn and I talked about my time there and how excited she is to visit us in the US next year. When we got to the airport we checked in my bag, and then we just stood there, not really knowing what to do. So, we started saying our goodbyes, and of course Quinn bawled her eyes out. I didn't cry until I got on the plane. Once on the plane I didn't know what to do, and I was exhausted, so I leaned back in my seat and I was out before the plane took off. I slept the entire way to Paris, and woke up when the plane landed. My little nap was nowhere near long enough. I could barely see because my eyes felt so grainy! The plane was really small, so I didn't have my carry-on with me in the plane. It was stored below or something. So I retrieved my bag and ran to the bus. I was the last person to exit the plane, and the last one to climb onto the bus. It was a short bus ride to the actual airport, but once I got there I had to show them my passport and get on another bus. After the second bus ride I finally reached the part of the airport that I needed to be in. Before I could look for my gate, I had to stand in a forever long line of people waiting to go through security. It took a while, but obviously I survived. Once through security, I looked at my ticket to see where I needed to go. It said Gate 39. I looked at the signs and soon found where I needed to go. I took a seat and waited. And waited. And waited. And waited some more. Before I left, Quinn told me to go straight to the desk and ask for a seating assignment. When I got there, no one was at the desk. My flight was scheduled to leave in ten minutes and still no one had showed up. I didn't get it. I had been listening to all the announcements, and watching the screens, what did I do wrong? So, I started trying to ask people. The first few people I tried to talk to didn't have time to help me, they had flights to catch. I had tried to ask like 5 people before a lady finally said she could help. She looked at my ticket and said, "Your ticket says gate 39, this is 39A. Gate 39 is that way. What time does your flight leave?" "In about 5 minutes!" I said, panicking. "HURRY!" she called after me. I ran as fast as I possibly could, praying with all my might that I wouldn't miss my flight. I finally made it to Gate 39, but no one was there. I was practically in tears! I looked at the screen. It said that the gate had been changed to 35. I had all of 2 minutes to make it to the other side of the airport and check in and board the plane. I didn't even know where gate 35 was! I asked someone who worked at the airport where gate 35 was. She asked me if I was going to New York and when I said no she asked where I was going. I said Salt Lake and she said, "Oh my gosh, honey, I don't know if you will make it! Hurry as fast as you can, it's this way." She pointed me in the right direction and I took off my shoes and sprinted through the airport. I reached Gate 35 and was totally out of breath. It was the last call for my flight. The lady at the desk checked my passport and my ticket and told me that I was cutting it very close. There was only one person who was checked after me. I was crying by now. I was so glad that I had made it! I went through a bunch of other people and had my passport and ticket checked 3 more times before I could board the plane. I was so mad! I had waited in the wrong gate for and hour and a half! Honestly, how are you supposed to know the difference between 39 and 39A? I didn't see a 39 anywhere, so I just assumed that the ticket meant 39A. Kaelei, ask AS SOON as you get there if you are in the right place, okay? I almost missed my flight because I didn't. Don't make the same mistake. Once I was on the plane I moved 3 times so families could sit together. I wound up sitting by a cute little French girl who asked me straightaway (in French) if I would be her friend. I took French for a year and a half so I understood what she was asking so I just said "Oui" and then went back to getting situated in my seat. Then she started talking to me again. She was talking so fast that I couldn't understand a word of what she was saying. She was looking at me expectantly, waiting for me to answer her. I didn't know what to do! Luckily, her older sister knew English and translated for me. She had been asking me something about where I was going and how I liked France and a bunch of other stuff that I don't remember. I answered as best I could, but she got bored quickly and talked to her sister instead. I was fine with that, I had spoken enough French for the day lol. My French teacher would have been so proud! So, about a third of the way through the flight a little boy came up to me and with a French accent asked me (in English) if I was American. I said yes and then he just walked away. I saw him go to two girls sitting a few rows behind me. I was a little confused. When they saw me looking, they tried to hide behind their books. It was really funny because one of the books was upside down. I started laughing and then she flipped it over and looked really embarrassed. I turned around and about 5 minutes later the little boy came again. I think he said how are you, but I don't know because he wasn't speaking very clearly. I asked him to repeat what he said and he was like "excuse me?" and then he repeated himself but I still couldn't understand him. "Uh...one moment," he said and he hurried back to the girls to ask them how to say it again. I was laughing, but then I saw the little boy's older brother sitting one row in front of me. He was really cute! I stopped laughing and just stared for a minute. He was reading some French book. The little boy didn't come back to talk to me, instead he went and talked to his brother. His brother had an awesome accent and he said something in English for the little boy to say to me, but he was too shy. He never said it. I was really tired and took a little nap. When I woke up it was time to eat. I had the same pasta dish that I had had on the way over. It was really yummy! Especially for airplane food. Kaelei, make sure you get the pasta, not the chicken. The pasta is really good! After I finished lunch I watched "Nim's Island." It was a cute show, but I got a little bored. It was too predictable. When it was over I read my book a little bit, but reading was making me airsick so I just went back to sleep. I woke up again just in time to eat some more. I think It was a sandwich...but it didn't taste good at all. I managed to stuff some down though, because I was starving! I watched some funny TV shows and can you guess what I did next? That's right! I took another nap. When I woke up the stewardess handed me a customs form to fill out. Kaelei, it was just like Quinn said. Check all the No's, write your passport number, your signature, and a few other things. It was really easy. At that point I looked at my watch. I still had 5 HOURS to go! What was I going to do? The people I was sitting next to were horrible! When they were awake they complained nonstop. When they slept they snored so I couldn't sleep very well. They drove me CRAZY!!! I thought I was going to die. I tried to fall asleep again, this time using earplugs, and I killed about and hour. When I woke up, there was another TV show on, so I watched it. It was the stupidest thing I have ever seen! I went back to sleep after having another Coke. This time I only slept for about twenty minutes before waking up. I had nothing to do, so I tried to go back to sleep. I did that over and over again for the next 2 and a half hours. Sleeping, then waking up, then going back to sleep, then waking up again, etc. I still had an hour and a half to go before we landed. I was in the middle aisle so I couldn't look out the window, so instead I got up and walked down the aisles until I had to sit down so the stewardess could take the cart down the aisle. I had another Coke and then listened to my iPod. I was still listening to it when the pilot came on the intercom and announced that we were over Salt Lake and would be landing in about ten minutes. I felt like jumping for joy! I swear that was the longest 10 hours and 12 minutes of my life! The plane finally landed and I was able to go get my bag and exit the plane. When I got out of the plane I had to wait in a long line to go through Customs. It was a VERY long line. I was more than ready to be out of the stupid airport and see my family. It was finally my turn in line. I went up to the desk and showed them my passport and customs form. The lady told me I had made a mistake. Kaelei, you know how Quinn said we didn't need to fill out the back? Well, she was wrong. Luckily the lady took pity on me and let me stand off to the side to fill it out. She didn't make me go to the end of the line. On the back I just put t-shirts and chocolate and souvenirs. I just divided the $100 I had put into three sections and put it next to each. When you fill it out you will see what I mean. Once the lady checked my passport and asked me some questions about the form like "Did you pack your own bag? Are you going to sell any of the things you brought with you? What countries did you visit? Why were you in Paris, was it your connecting flight? Why were you in Germany? Did anyone ask you to put anything in your bag for them?" And some other ones I don't remember, but those were the main ones. I got through there, got my bags, went through another place and had to show my passport again and give them my customs form, then I walked through a long winding hallway, pushed through some doors and got mauled by two over-eager younger siblings, racing each other to see who could hug me first. I had my arms full, so Kyle and Kira had to wait for their hugs from me, but they got them. I had quite the reception at the airport. Max and Pauline and Tori were there, my mom was there, Kyle and Kira were there, and Lisa and Lisha were there, and my cousin Kensi was there too. I was so glad to see them! The airplane had been freezing cold but as soon as I stepped off I started sweating. It was really hot when I got out of the airport! When I got home I talked to my mom, and unpacked my bags. That night I had Max and Pauline and Eli and Kaila and Becca Mills over to play rock band and watch a movie. It was really fun. We watched "Jumper" and it was about 11:15 before Max, Eli, and Pauline left. (Kaila didn't get to stay for the movie, and Becca had to leave as soon as it was over.) We had a blast. After everyone left I climbed up the stairs, changed into my pajamas, and crawled into bed. I was asleep within seconds.

Today: Today we woke up and we ran around town getting a few things we needed. I also bought the chocolate I needed. You wouldn't believe how difficult it is to decide what chocolate to buy with how many choices you have here. After we came home and packed all the stuff we would need for Italy. Later on Anna and I went to the ice cream store and got Eis for the family and then brought it back, It was so yummy!! After I left to Quinn's home and I downloaded the rest of my pictures, and I made sure everything was set for my flight when I get back from Italy. On the bike ride home it was raining and I was really wet when I got back but I have to say it was so much fun rideing home in the rain. When I was back and watched a little TV and now I am going to bed because I will be up early.

P.S. Just so everyone knows I won't be posting anything for about 2 weeks, so the next time I write it will probably be when I am back in America. I love you all!

I'm the last one of the traveling swim chicks

Well I'm the only one left of us traveling swim chicks in Germany. Kali left very early this morning on her adverturous flight home and I wish her the best luck. But anyways about my day. Today when we woke up it was so hot!! So we decided that we would got to the pool again! So then Judith came to the house and we all went to the pool. We met Sina there and Sara came later. When we got in the water it felt so good. We also saw Quinn and her family while we were there. There were so many people, it was crazy!! After being there for a long time, Anna and I went home, Then we were lazy until dinner. For dinner we had a really good pasta ( I can't remember the name) and then I went and watered the plants in the backyard. Later on Quinn came over and we talked to her for a while and now we are going to bed.

Sunday: Today I woke up and got ready for church, then Quinn came and picked me up it was so nice to see them again. Kali told me all sorts of fun stories about Italy that i'm sure she will tell you about later. This was both of our last week in the ward. So we said bye to everyone we had met. After church we went back to our houses and changed and then we left to go glideling. Katharina helped us find Valentin's dad and then she left with Anna and Laura to go to a lake. We then went over and we waited for the plane to land so that we could go. Kali went first, she was a little nervous because she is a bit afraid of hightes. So she went up, While she was up I talked to a few of the other people. I talked to this one boy, I don't remember his name, but he was very nice. When Kali came back she didn't look so good. She said she felt sick while she was in the air but that she had tons of fun. She said they did a few tricks in the air and went upside down. Next it was my turn, So I strapped on the parashoot ( I have to say its kinda weird to think that the whole reason you have it on is just in case something goes wrong) So as you go up it is so cool, there is a cable that is attatched to the plane and It carries the plane up like a kite, then as soon as you are in the air and flying good then the cable releases. I didn't have the best luck while in the air. We were trying to find a pocket of air or something but we just had bad timeing so for about 20 min we flew in circles trying to find it. Well I started understanding why Kali didn't feel so good, because I started feeling really sick, It was mainly from just the change of altitude but it was also from going in circles. ( the reason we were going in circles is so that we could find the pockets of air) So we just decided to land because we just couldn't get it to work. ( it sucked) Well after we landed I layed down for about 10 min then he asked if I wanted to go up again, long enough for him to go up and then go around for a minute and then land the plane at the hanger. So I went again but this time I went in a much older plane, It was very different. It was alot more bumpy with the take off and the landing. It also wasn't nearly as comfortable as the plane that I went on first, it was a newer plane and it felt like you were laying and relaxing. While we were in the air I flew the plane for a short time but then it was time to land. When we landed that was right when Katharina came to get us. So first we got pictures and then we thanked Valentin's dad for taking us and then we left. On the way back we watched all the video clips that we had taken they are hilarious. ( We were told that it is very cool to take a video of your face as you take off. So we did!) After we dropped Kali off at Quinn's and then we went back and had dinner. After dinner we rode our bikes to Quinn's and helped Kali pack her stuff. When she was packed we watched a movie called "Made of Honnor" It was good. When it was over Anna, Laura, and I rode back home. Then Anna and I stayed up talking a while befor we finally went to bed.

Today I woke up, ate breakfast, and then we went swimming...again yay! While we were there I saw a really cute guy. We then discovered that he was Italian. So the rest of the day any time I saw him I would smile, and then Anna and Sina would laugh. But he was good looking for the most part. So later on after we had been swimming all day. He walked over to Anna and I and asked if we wanted to play volley ball with him and his friends. I accepted, Anna said she would come over and watch but she didn't want to play. So we played It was really fun. It was funny because he could speak little english and he had a very strong Italian accent. But he was very nice. After we had to leave. So we said bye, and came home. When we got home we ate abend brot and soup for dinner. Then we watched "Hitch". It was very good. So as you can see there really isn't alot to talk about today its almost the same as the other days. So.. ya gonna go now.

Swimming and more Swimming

Thursday: Today we woke up and we ate breakfast outside. It was so nice outside that Anna, Laura, and I decided to go to the swimming pool. We went with Sara and we met Sina there. The water was FREEZING cold but we still got in because it was so hot. While we out of the water we would play cards or read or just sleep in the sun. It was very nice and realaxing. At around 3.00 Katharina came and joined us. We had so much fun!!! 6:00 rolled around and we decided we probably should go home so we did (that means we were at the pool for about 6 hours). After we got home we came home we ate Platten which is like taco's. They were so yummy! After that Sara came over and we watched " Run away Bride" in German. It was hard to understand everything but I had subtitles so that was good. After we watched this tv show called The Model and the Freak. It was the strangest tv show ever!!!! After that it was late so we came up and went to bed.

Today: I woke up and Laura and I were planning on going to the swimming pool to meet with one of the girls I met. So we left at about 10:30. When we got there we found out that she wasn't there. But we still got in and had fun. At first we were in the inside pool but there were alot of people so we decided to go outside into the cold cold water. The sun didn't come out for a while so it was really cold but we still got in. After a while the sun finally came out. In one of the pools they had a whole bunch of blowup toys and lots of other stuff. We played on them for about 2 hours. Then Anna came to the pool yay! We also saw girl from swim team named Isa. She played with us in the water and all of us played cards. Then we decided to go and jump of the diving boards it was so much fun. It was funny because every time we would go to get into the water we would play rock, paper, scissors to decided who would have to get into the water first. I have decided that I am not very good at that game I was always the first one in. After we had been there for about 6 or more hours we decided to go home. I discovered that I now have a nice tan and a little bit of a sunburn (oops). When we got home we sat around a while and then we left to a BBQ. At the BBQ we had a wonderful time talking and eating lots of food. While the adults talked I read my book ( The Divinci Code). I only had a few more chapters left. By the time we left I had finished. It was a really good book. After we got home we came upstairs, while Anna and I were writing on the blog we heard a noise outside we looked outside and It was raining like crazy!!! And now It stopped! Well I don't have anything else to write. See ya

Wednesday

Today I woke up and ate breakfast then I posted pictures. After we sat around a little and then made lunch we ate pasta. Then I went with Anna and Laura to the Hair dresser. They both had their hair cut and they both look great! After we went to the city and I bought a few things, and then we came back to the house and I sat out back in the sun and read! After a little while it was time for dinner, we ate bread and some soup.Then we decided to go out back and play ligretto and ladders. After we were done I sat down and read some more of my book. While I was off in the reading world Dirk came downstairs and said they had a mouse in the Atic. I laughed and shrugged it off. Then about 5 or 10 minutes later I heard a little squeal upstairs. Dirk was showing the girls the dead mouse in the bucket. It was funny to listen to. Then he came downstairs and he showed me the mouse. It was kinda cool to just look at it. I think others would think differently. After I came upstairs and I cleaned up some of my stuff while Anna and her mom put the Mamma Mia songs on her ipod. Now we are going to bed!

Kaelei Is Finally 16!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thankyou everyone!!!!!!!! I had a wonderful birthday! Its weird to think that I am actually 16 I never thought the day would come! I can DATE yay! Oh and I can't forget I get to DRIVE! I think my parents are a little scared for those! ok not a little, ALOT! Ok so I didn't get to writing on my blog yesterday because I was tiered from all the days events! And here its how it went. So I was sleeping when Katharina came into the room at about 7:30 and woke me up saying Happy Birthday and said I needed to come downstairs. So we all went downstairs and on the table was a wonderful birthday cake and presents all set out on the table! I then sat down and blew out my candles and then we ate cake for breakfast. It was so yummy! Then I opened my gifts from their family. I got a picture frame with pictures of me swimming its so cool! and I got Puma brand FLIP FLOPS they are black and pink and sooooooooo cute! Then I opened my gift that was sent to me from my family. I got a CTR ring and CTR earings! (I wonder if they were trying to hint to me to be a good girl especially now that I can date he he.) They are awesome! After that I made No Bake Cookies for the party. Then Laura, Anna and I played cards. Then while we were waiting for the potatoes we were listening to the Mamma Mia CD again and we were being dorks and having a blast dancing around the kitchen again. Ha ha I think we now have all the songs memorized after listening to the Cd over 15 times in the last 2 days. Then we finished getting the house ready for the guests then they all started coming. After they had all shown up we got on our bikes and went over to Cloudia's to pick up her and her guests and then we rode to a lake! When we got there we ate lots of sweets and many other things. The weather was good but not extreamly warm but Anna, Laura, Cloudia, 2 of her guests Ines, Mieke and I all got in the freezing water! we had so much fun jumping in and getting back out, then doing it all over again. I think the rest of the guests thought we were all crazy because it was so cold! But it was so much fun! After we warmed up and got dressed we sat around and talked to eachother. I got to know people alot better and I got to meet some new friends of Cloudia's it was so much fun! After we rode our bikes home and we went in the backyard and ate some more and talked then people started leaving. Later on we still had some other guests and we decided to go to the park. It was lots of fun playing on all the stuff. Then after everyone else had left we went back to Anna's I opened my presents I got many things. I got Lots of chocolate yay! a cell phone holder, A burgdorf book, flowers, more chocolate, and I even got another cake! After I had opened my gifts I rode my bike to Quinn's to call and talk to my family! It was nice to hear from them! I guess the YW back home brought me balloons. Which is sooooo cool! After I came home and I went up and got in bed I was so tiered! It was the best 16th Birthday a girl could ask for!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, YOU OLD LADY! Now you are officially allowed to date. How does it feel? How was your party? I hope it was awesome. Sorry I couldn't be there for it.

Well, we are leaving Italy in about a half hour or so. I'm really sad. We just finished saying goodbye to the Animators, and we got pictures and gave hugs and kisses ;D (my favorite part lol). I'm really going to miss Italy, it is so fun here! Well, my time is up! Hopefully more tonight from me. Love ya!

Monday!!

Today I woke up at 11:15 then we ate a light breakfast. Then we went to the store and bought all the things that we would need for the lunch. While we were there we bought Mamma Mia the CD! We were so excited to listen to it. So we rode our bikes home fast and put it in the player and started to sing. We then cooked Waffles for lunch they were so yummy. After we danced around and sang at the top of our lungs it was so much fun! We listened to the CD 3 or 4 times. After that we invited Sara to come over and play cards. We laughed so hard while playing all the games we are going to have sore stomaches in the morning. While we played cards Katharina baked things for the party tomorrow. After Sara went home, we ate soup and bread for dinner. Then I sat down and read my book. Now I really want to go to bed so the morning will come sooner! IM SO EXCITED!!!! Night!

Hello from Italy!

Hey Everyone!
I posted a comment on one of Kaeleis posts called Pictures, but i dont really have time to post very much cuz internet costs a fortune here in Italy on our campground. Its called Ca Pasquali. Sunday!!!!!!

Today I woke up at 8:00 and got ready for church. Then I got a ride to church with Quinn's inlaws they are very kind people. Today there were 2 other girls in Young Womens. YAY! I have been the only girl for the past 2 weeks. The main reason for this is, its summer time and everyone is gone on vacation. Anyways we had a wonderful lesson and the lady who taught the lesson did it in English, And she did really well. After church I came back and Katharina took me to a flee market that was happening so that I could look for some things that I have been looking for. We had great success and got some stealing deals. After we came back home and we went to a BBQ for one of Katharina's collegues Birthday. She was a very nice lady and so was her family and friends. Then we came home and we watched a Germany CSI type film with an actor who just turned 70. I didn't understand, one because I don't speak German and two we started watching it a little after it started. But still it was good! Now its like 10 ish and we are getting ready to go to bed. Saturday

Today I woke up and the two crazy cute little boys, Katharina and Dirk were downstairs playing. They had already been up a few hours. So I watched them play while I ate breakfast. After breakfast we rode our bikes to the..... oh man I can't remember the name oh well I will explain it. It was a market where people bring their animals (bunnies, chickens, gooses, horses, etc.) and they sell them. They also have other shops and stuff around. It was really fun. It was quite an adventure to go there by bike with two little boys. They like to be wild thats for sure. After we got home. While I waited for the the lunch to cook I finished my book " A Walk to Remember" its so cute! When lunch was done cooking we ate lasagna with Katharina's sister and her boys. It was very yummy. After I got to meet Katharina's parents they were very nice people. Her dad went out and fixed my breaks. YAY! no more crashes. Later after everyone had left I started a new book " The Da Vinci Code". Then Laura came home from her trip. I was very happy to see her. Then we talked a little bit and then had bread and cheese for dinner, and now we are going to bed. Night everyone.

Friday: Today we woke up and took our time getting ready for the day and then Anna and I rode our bikes to the store and got some stuff. Then we came back and I decided I was going to read my book for English and she wanted to watch Tv. So I read for a few hours and I finished my book. Hooray!! Then I went with Katharina to the store and we bought the stuff I needed for the dinner I was going to make. We also bought a few things for my birthday party. When we came home Katharina's nephew's were here. They are staying with us overnight because Anna's aunt (their mom), is taking Anna to the opera tonight(in congratulations for her conformation back in April). So we had an adventrous afternoon with these cute little boys, we fixed the breaks on my bike wahoo! and the boys rode their bikes around but then it started raining so we came in and I made BLT sandwiches for Katharina and the Boys. They liked it very much! After I sat down and started a new book and the boys played with their cars. Everyone was very tiered so they decided to go to bed, and I have been reading my book but now I think I will go to bed!

MOVIE TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wednesday: Today we woke up and took my invitations around. While we were taking them around it was raining so hard. When we got home we were drenched. It was so much fun! Then after Katharina came home we decided to go to Celle. When we got there we went to a synagoga that was also a museum that talked about the jews back durring World War 2. It was really really cool. After we went around the city and looked in shops. Then we got Eis (ice cream) I got Spagetti Eis it was so good. Spagetti Eis is ice cream that looks like spagetti with straberry drizzle t is sooooooooo delicious. When we were done we went back to Burgdorf and went to the store so I could buy some stuff for the meal that I was cooking the next day. I didn't realize how hard it is to find the same things that I use in America. But we found stuff that would work. After we came home and ate dinner and then we watched 2 movies. The first one was "How to loose a guy in 10 days" and then we watched "Pretty Woman" They were good. When we were done it was really late so we went to bed.

Thursday: Today Anna and I slept in again and then we went and finished taking my invitations around. After I came back and made Ranch enchiladas for Anna and her mom. They liked them alot. After I went to Quinns and put picutres on the blog. Then I came back and I read for a few hours. It was nice and relaxing. After we decided to go to the new movie that just came out called "Mamma Mia". It was the cutest, funniest, fun show! Lately my breaks on my bike haven't been working to well and to prove this, on the way to the show we were going down a ramp to go into the city and my breaks were not working at all. So I went down the ramp very fast trying to stop but my breaks just weren't going to work so.........BAM!!!!!!!!!!!! I crashed into the wall. It was hilarious. I couldn't have it it any better. Anna and I were laughing so hard. I got up and she asked me if I was ok. I was laughing so hard that I couldn't answer. She asked me again, at first I said yes then no then yes again. Then I got up and got on my bike and kept going laughing like crazy the rest of the way to the movie. When we got there we got our tickets. Katharina and Dirk came a little later than us and we told them my about my bike crash. Katharina has this joke that is like this..... Dear Mr. Corbridge we are sorry to tell you that your daughter has been injured in a bike accident. Sorry about that. (Sometimes she will put different things that have happend in the spot about what happend to me) It is hilarious when she says it. I love it! After our good laugh the movie began. It was so cool! We loved it so much that Anna is going to go buy the CD tomorrow. We decided that we are going to learn all the songs on our way to Italy. I feel kinda bad for Dirk he has to sit in the car with us CRAZY girls singing and giggling the whole way there. But oh well he will have to deal with it( sorry). Then we went and got something to drink and then we went home. Now we are going to bed after a day full of lots of fun

Monday: Today Jojo and her mom invited us to go to the Hannover zoo. I was so excited because I LOVE the zoo its so cool and fun. So when we got to the zoo we went and saw a few different animals and then we went on a boat ride. While we were on the little boat ride we saw Ducks and Flamingos and Zebras and there was more but I can't remember. After we went and saw the new baby elephant it was so cute. Then we saw the GIRAFFES! They are my favorite! Oh and we got to see a seal show. It was so cool to see how talented and smart these animals are. After we went and got fries. Yum yum! After we went back to Anna's and Jojo, Anna and I played Ligretto and Latters and Golf. We had a great time. Then Jojo had to leave :( Then we were trying to decide what we wanted for dinner and I offered to make scones for them. They loved them. After we cleaned up and we all went to bed.

Tuesday: Today we slept in and then got up and went to Hannover again. Anna took me on a tour of The Red Thread. It was so cool to be able to see all the historic things of Hannover I loved it we had the best time. After we took the train home and then we went with Katharina to the city and we did a little shopping. We had a great time together. After we came home and Anna and I decided we wanted to do Sports (excercise) so we decided to go running. We did about 3 maybe 4 miles. It was a very nice day to do this. It felt so good to workout. After we came back and went in her backyard and we stretched and did abbs and all sorts of other stuff. ( thats what the pictures are from) It was so fun. After we ate dinner and then we watched "My best friends wedding" It was pretty good! Now we are going to bed.

Saturday: Today we woke up at about 8:00 and we left to take Laura to Dirks Cousins house to stay for the week. While we were there we ate Lasagne it was soooooooo good!!! After the adults talked for quite a while. As they were talking Anna and I started getting very bored of adult talk so we went in another room and played table fuss ball. At first we were tied but in the end Anna won. It was so much fun. Later on we went to Freilichtmuseum am Kiekeberg. At this museum we got to see how the farmers back in the day used to live. It was so cool and we had lots of fun playing store and hairdresser and just being silly ( as shown in the pictures). We got CANDY while we were there it was delicious. After we went back to the house where we were visiting and we ate chocolate cake and a cake thing thats like apple pie. They we very good! Of course! Its chocolate, chocolate is a girls best friend! After we said goodbye to them and then we went just down the street and visited Dirks uncle him and his wife were very kind. After we were done visiting we headed back for home. The drive was about an hour and a half there, and the same time back. I slept both ways! When we got home we went for a bike ride and got somthing to drink together. I got mezzo coke ( i think thats the name) but anyways its orange fanta and coke mixed together. Its very good its might even be one of my new favorites! While we were there there was a Robbie Williams show on the TV. It was fun to watch him dance and sing. After we rode our bikes home and Katharina and I got some of the pictures that we had taken and put them on the blog. So now there are PICTURES!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!! We have so many that its hard to put them all on, but we will pick some good ones and post them soon! Enjoy!

Sunday: Today i woke up and I went to Church with a different family from the ward they were very nice. At church I was the only young woman that showed up so we decided to just go to relief society. This very kind lady translated for me. After I went to sunday school and there were only 2 of us. Me and this other kid. The teacher could talk English so he taught the lesson in 2 different languages. It was cool! After I went to sacrament meeting. I sat with Heather and her husband and her adorable little boy. She also speaks English and she is very nice. After the meeting I went back home with the family that I came with. When I got home Anna made me baby sauceages and we ate bread. It was yummy. After I felt homesick so to keep me distracted and keep my mind off it we decided to go on a bike ride with the next door neighbors Margaret and Peter and then we invited Cloudia to come. It was so much fun we went through a forest and we stopped at a lake and then we went to a cafe that was in the middle of the forest. It was so much fun. It was a long bike ride, probably 15 or 20 miles. I don't know i'm just guessing. After we came back home and I read my book for about an hour and then we had pizza for dinner. Then we wrote a list of people that I am going to invite to the birthday party that they are throwing for me. I'm so excited! Only 9 days and i'm finally 16! YAHOO!!!

Thursday: Today Anna and I woke up at 12:45. We then realized that Laura was supposed to come home at about 11 and we didn't here her. So we called and found out that she went back to her friends, and then we told her that we were awake and that she could come home. We felt kinda bad because we didn't hear her (oops). Instead of eating breakfast we ate lunch. It is called gulasch, it is noodles with meat and a different sauce. Its very very good. After I went to Quinn's to check on the house and I decided to call home really quick because I felt very homesick. After I called I felt better. After I went back to Anna's and I read for a little while to keep myself from feeling homesick. It worked! Then we invited Sina to come over, we decided to go rent some movies. We got "Matirial Girls" and "In her shoes". We first watched "Matierial Girls" and then had dinner. At dinner we had Sina, Laura and Katarina try Root Beer. They didn't like it at all. Their faces were so funny. Then they watched me drink it and they couldn't believe that I liked to drink it. After dinner we watched " In her shoes" They were good movies. We were having so much fun with Sina that we asked her to sleep over and she did! We stayed up laughing and talking for a while. It was really fun!

Friday: Today we woke up at about 8:30 ( much much earlier than yesterday morning) :) so we could let in the worker men that were coming to re-do the railing. We decided to make French toast for Sina to try. After breakfast Laura and I went to the pool to get in a swim workout. I had my coach send me a workout to do. But... I have to say it is really hard to do workouts without a coach there telling you what you change so that you can get better. Then we came home and we were trying to think of something that we could do, but we didn't have alot of choices because it was raining Blah! So after we had thought a while we decided that we would make chocolate chip cookies with the chocolate chips that Anna still had from last summer. So we rode our bikes in the rain to the store and bought everything we needed and came back and made cookies. They were very VERY good!! We made tons of them and ate one to many! When we were done I took a nap and then we had dinner. When we had cleaned up dinner we played Ligretto and Latters. It was so much fun I Love being here with their family, they are very nice and exteamly fun to be with!

Last Day of School

Wednesday:Today I got up and got ready to go to school with Anna. Then we left and went to meet Kali. We waited and waited and she didn't come so I called Quinn's house and found out that she had forgot to wake up Kali because she was doing something else. So she said she would send Kali on her way as soon as she was ready. So Anna and I went to school. It was her last day and we only had 3 classes. We came and had music for 2 classes and their last class was just getting their report cards. Kali came durring the 2nd class of music. Once school was out Kali went back to Quinn's to help her pack and get everything ready for their trip. Anna and I came to her house and made pizza it was soooooo good!!! After we watched TV, I couldn't understand it but it was still fun to watch. After a little while I went upstairs and took a nap for about an hour. Then Anna and I went to Quinn's and nobody answered the door, So we rode our bikes back to Anna's and then we went to the store with Katharine. After we came back home and went to Quinn's again. We found out when we came the first time Kali was there she was just sleeping. Quinn then showed me some stuff she wanted me to watch and take care of while she was gone. After we said bye to them and told them to have tons of fun on their trip to Italy. Then we came home and we decided to go to skate by night in Hannover. We invited Johanna to go with us. It was so much fun we, we went two different routes. It was fun and hard we started getting very tired by the end. After we went to a place called ALEX and we got something to drink I got a Alex tropical it was very good. After we came home and went to bed.

hey guys we finally have some pictures up. look at posts from before, you may notice more PICTURES. The top one is me with Katharina and Dirk, Anna's parents, and it was taking at the dance i went to with Anna. The second is when kaelei and i were EXTREMELY bored at school. The third is of Jeffrey at his soccer tournament, and by the way, he scored a goal when he was playing storm, and he plays goalie most of the time. Quinn had never seen him play storm (offense) before. And the bottom is when we said goodbye to Coni at the church when we were going to the temple.

sorry about the no capitals, the keyboards here are way different and it's driving me insane to keep looking at the keyboard to find the buttons i want so just deal with the lowercase ok? lol it's kali again. WE ARE WORKING ON PICTURES!!!! sorry, that was worth the extra work to type all caps. we will be putting pictures on asap. ok, never mind. I will use capitals now. I give up, it's driving me nuts.

SUNDAY: We went to church with Quinn today. It was fun. We were the only girls who showed up for young womens so we went to relief society because they couldn't really teach us the lesson. Another girl showed up in time for sunday school. (Did we mention that church is in a different order, YW or YM, sunday school, sacrament meeting.) The teacher is really cool. He even translated some of the lesson and had us read out of an English B of M to the class. And we answered questions and it was just cool. Then for Sacrament Meeting we had translation again. It was a fast and testimony meeting and it was really cool. Kaelei and I wanted to go up but there just wasn't time. There was always someone bearing their testimony and by the time we figured out we just had to go up there and sit it was too late. That kind of sucked but oh well. After church we went back to Anna's house. We hung out untill around six and then we had a barbeque with another family. It was nice. We went to bed early that night, but we were still exhausted by morning.

MONDAY: Like I said, we were exhausted. It made school especially difficult because we didn't understand what was going on so we just weren't enjoying it as much as we would have been had we gotten more sleep the night before. oh well. After school we had lunch at Anna's house. It was yummy! We had spaghetti. After lunch we went to this cool little lake thingy that is famous for the eels it houses. Kinda creepy, right? We went around in a peddle-boat and had a blast. Kaelei, being the bright young blonde she is forgot about the sunglasses she was wearing and bent over the side of the boat and dropped her sunglasses into the murky depths. "oh well!" she said brightly, "they were only 3 euros and now the eels will enjoy them instead!" We laughed at her and continued our ride. We really will have rock hard legs when we get back! After an hour we went and got ice cream, which I must say was very yummy, so of course, being the klutz I am, I dropped my ice cream cone and the ducks got to enjoy it instead of me. Stupid ducks. It was a long car ride, and we honestly tried to stay awake, we really did, but we slept like the whole way there and back. There's just something about the car that just puts us to sleep instantly...we're going to be like Ken when we get home, asleep before the car reaches the end of the driveway! So when we finally reached home after our long nap, we had dinner and watched A Walk to Remember. Kaelei and I bawled our eyes out (of course) and Anna and her family laughed at us and teased us about it. Then Kali rode her bike home with Anna's dad and Kaelei and Anna stayed up into the wee hours of the morning sharing all their girly secrets without me. *sniff sniff* But that's ok. Because I stayed up just as late talking to my family on the phone. So HAH!

TODAY: Kaelei came over at about 7:30 a.m. and fell back to sleep until 9 then got ready. And Kali stayed in bed, not quite sleeping until like 10 a.m. Then she got ready and read the book A Walk to Remember while Kaelei and and Quinn studiously did their homework. Kaelei is FINALLY done with her Fitness for Life class and Quinn is still working on her math. Kaelei called her family today. We were planning on going to the zoo, but obviously the weather had a different plan becuase it is still raining. It's about 5:15 and we have swim practice at 7:30 and we don't know if we can go due to bad weather. Cross your fingers. Well, Kaelei is sick of waiting for me lol while I type cuz she wants to watch a movie. So do I. Miss you, love you, post comments, we are working on the pictures,

Well its just me (Kaelei) and Kali left. We were very happy to know that Lisha made it home safely.

Obviously we have been very busy because we haven't wrote on our blog for a while! Here is what we have done since Lisha left.



On Thursday we went to school we were supposed to have 8 classes but since their teacher wasn't there for class 8 we only had 7. By class number 3 we were dying because it was so hot!!!!!!!!! We were hopping that they would call a heat free day which is when they let you out of school because its so hot. After class 6 they called the heat free day we were so happy. When we got back to Quinns we ate Fettucine Alfredo again. We were so happy we LOVE that stuff. After that I sat down and did my online homework from about 2 until 6. It was really tireing sitting and working that long but it was very good because now i am so close to being done. While I did my homework Kali took a nap. After Quinn took us to the E center to shop for some food and other stuff. After we got home we ate Abendbrot (for dinner). We were supposed to go to swim to but it started pooring so we couldn't ride our bikes. It sucked! After that we sat down and peeled potatoes and watched 50 first dates. It was so much fun!!!!



YAY THE 4Th OF JULY!!!

Friday we got ready for the party that Quinn was throwing to celebrate the 4th of July, by finishing the potato salad; making brownies; making cake, making hamburger patties and cleaning. She said we could invite some friends that we had met at school and other places to come. We invited, Anna, Sina, Judith, Niles, Bennedict, and Karo (sorry those might be spelled wrong). We had so much fun we ate all American food and we played Pit, Latters, and Golf it was so much fun. After we stuffed ourselves full. We went to a Hannover 96 game against one of the city teams. Hannover won (6 to 1) because they are a profesional team. After the game we said bye to our friends and we went to Quinn's to pack for Anna's. Kali only packed for a few days and I packed everything because I will be staying with Anna from now until I go home.



Today (Saturday) we woke up and got ready to go to Jeffery's Fussball (Soccer) game. When we got there I felt exteamly sick. I ended up throwing up. Kali went and got me some sprite to help my stomach it worked for a few minutes. After all that we watched Jeffery played his game. He was so cute!! he ended up making a goal it was AWESOME! We were so happy for him. After I had to decide if I wanted to go to Hannover with Anna and Kali or if I wanted to stay home because I felt sick. I ended up going. Katharina took us and we went and met one of her friends and we had brunch. It was very good. (By this time I started feeling much better than I had yearlier.) We also met some of Anna's friends from Hannover their names were Lara and Lisa. We went shopping around Hannover it was fun! After we said by to her friends and we came home. Then we decided we wanted to watch a movie so we went to Anna's next door neighbor and asked him if we could borrow a movie. He was very nice and said yes! So we went down in his basement and his basement was set up as a small theater it was really cool. Then he offered us to stay and watch the movie there. We accepted! We watched "The Sixth Sense" You should've saw us we looked so scared we were holding eachothers hands and we would squeal and cover our faces it was so funny. After we left and went back to Anna's and we got ready to go to a birthday party for a man who was turning 50 that she knew. Anna, Kali, Dirk, and I decided to ride our bikes we rode for 15 miles to get to the party. The party was at glider airport. They had steaks and chicken and french fries and salads and ice cream. It was so yummy. We had lots of fun, we all decided we ate too much because we were stuffed. When we were done eating and visiting, we rode our bikes back to Anna's. We made a quick stop at Quinn's so we could grab a few things we forgot. So our total amount of bike riding today was about 30 miles. We are going to have some rock hard legs by the time we get home. YAY!! After we got back we gave the Rust family their gifts from us. They loved them!

Lisha Goes Home

I woke up at 4:30 AM and at 5 Quinn drove me to the Hannover airport. By 7:00 my plane was in the air and I was on my way to Paris. But I was out... I was asleep before the plane was off the ground and I didn't wake until 1 1/2 hours later when the plane touched down in Paris. It wasn't the best nap, but oh well. I got to my next gate and I found out that my plane would be delayed for an hour. So instead of having a two hour lay over, it was three hours. If have to say that it was a long wait. It was a long line in front of the gate when they announced that they would be boarding. Everyone was asked questions before they could board the plane. The questions were things like: Are you carrying any gifts for anyone? How much are all the goods worth in your bags? Has anyone else had your bags besides you? .... stuff like that.
On my flight from Paris to Salt Lake I watched 3 movies. The only problem is that my plug in for the headphones didn't work. So I got to watch 3 movies with out any sound. It was dumb. But I lived.
I landed in Salt Lake at 2 PM (Utah Time) and went through passport boarder control and that took about a half and hour. I got my bags and let the terminal where I met up with Mom, Dad, Ephraim and Pauline. It was great to see everyone again.
I'm glad to be back home and I had a great time in Germany. Thank you to everyone who made my stay so wonderful. I loved my time there. I will also miss all of my new friends.

Catch up day!

Hey guys, sorry it's been so long since we posted...we've been busy. Especially since Lisha is packing and shopping for leaving early tomorrow morning. Did you know she bought 45 EURO in CHOCOLATE?!?! Can you believe that? It takes up half of her suitcase! Just kidding. But she really did buy 45 Euros of chocolate. Kaelei and I (Kali) teased her all the way home lol. So, like, Lee, it's like, me again! Like, Kali!

Monday: We went to school with Anna for the first day. (Well, for Lisha and Kaelei, but I went on Friday too.) First we had Gym Class, they call it Sports. Then Lisha went with a girl on the swim team here named Maren, while me and Kaelei stayed with Anna. Lisha doesn't remember what she did...all she remembers is that she was very confused because she couldn't understand what they were saying and people were afraid to talk to her. She says English Class was good bcuz she could talk in that class. Not knowing what's going on can make class a bit boring. And ya know what? Anna doesn't even have guys in her class. And they have the same kids in EVERY class. Except Latin. That's my (and possibly Kaelei's) favorite class. Okay, so there is one guy in the class, but it's just not the same without boys. (Sorry guys, we still love going to school with you fun German Kids lol.) Kaelei and I don't really remember much either...we got a little bored too. We played cards in the back of the classrooms and entertained ourselves with our iPods. School can be very interesting though. English Class is fun because they ask questions and talk to us. School here is very different. We still don't quite understand what's going on a lot of the time, but it's fun anyways.

Tuesday: Today was pretty much the same as yesterday, we went to class with Anna, Lisha went with Maren again. She said the kids were less shy today and talked a little more. Maren and her talk a lot though. Kaelei and I use iPods, a deck of cards, LOTS OF FOOD and our cameras to entertain ourselves. It's pretty funny. We feel bad cuz it seems like all we do is eat. We don't get to swim much. (Sorry, Shawn) We had swim practice today, I didn't stay for swim practice today cuz I...ahem...got in a little...uh...bike crash...*clears throat loudly* and had to go home to clean up. Then I went to bed. It felt great! Well, going to bed did, not crashing. That was actually a bit painful. lol. It was a...new...experience. Kaelei and Lisha had fun at practice though. They sort of played water polo at the end. Their version of water polo was standing on the bottom, grabbing the ball with two hands, having six people gang up on you, and then chucking it across the pool as hard as they could. lol. But Kaelei and Lisha tried to play it right. Cuz Shawn taught us better than that lol. (be easy on us when we get home from Germany and have swim practice, it's just not the same here!) After practice they went to Anna's house. It took them a while to get there bcuz they got lost. They talked with Katharine (kat-uh-REE-nuh) and Lisha said goodbye to everyone in their family. Then they came home and Lisha diligently fulfilled her duty to Quinn by helping with math homework and Kaelei worked on her Fitness For Life homework. All this happened while Kali was having pleasant dreams of sexy guys. lol! Then they came down and accidentally woke me up right at the best part of my dream! But I forgive them. Morning came much too soon for our taste. We are exhausted.

Today, Wednesday: School. Again. Joy. lol we had fun today. We only had 4 classes and it was really hot so we met Anna and some friends at the pool. We had a ton of fun tanning and splashing each other in the water. We went with Anna, Sina, Judith, Vincent, Tim, and Sarah, but then two other girls showed up. I still don't really know what their names are. Sorry if I misspelled any names...or got them wrong. Kaelei and I were VERY hyper, and had way too much fun in the water. We jumped off the high dive and screamed our heads off. Well, at least Kaelei did, Kali was terrified so she closed her eyes, plugged her nose like a wimp, and kept her mouth firmly shut and dreaded the end of the fall when she would hit the water. Kaelei loves jumping off of high things and risking her life just for the thrill, but Kali has decided she likes life too much to lose it just to jump off high stuff into freezing cold water. She only jumped off (like ;-D) three times while Kaelei lost track of how many times she jumped. We had a ton of fun at the pool. We forgot sunscreen but Kaelei and Lisha tanned while Kali burned to a crisp. Now she has a permanent blush clouding her face from sunburns and has sensitive shoulders lol. And the mosquitoes apparently LOVE Kaelei cuz she's covered with mosquito bites and Lisha and I haven't really had any. For dinner tonight we had HUGE ice cream creations. They were so yummy! We went into Hannover cuz it's Lisha's last night and we pigged out on delicious ice cream. Oh, and for lunch, we had chicken fettuccine alfredo. It was delicious! Not quite as good as yours, Lee, but it was good!

Anyways, we had an exciting day, and Lisha has to wake up VERY early, so, good night! We miss you guys! Love ya!
